Ventura County Surf Forecast – Weekend Waves – More freaking windswell

The Swell
WNW-NW windswell will peak into early Saturday, fade slightly through midday and then increase again in the afternoon. Look for the windswell (and a small SW swell) to fade through the day on Sunday.

Waves
High tide and building onshore winds are going to really screw up the surf for Saturday morning…but there may be a couple of random pockets if the winds hold off long enough. Look for mostly knee-waist high windswell lines at the average spots and some chest-high+ sets showing at the top spots.

Sunday will sort of see similar sizes…about the same amount of swell will be in the water for early Sunday but the high tide will really flatten things out for most spots. By the time the tide starts to drop so will the swell…and the winds may start to switch around as well. I would stick to high-tide spots early…maybe they will be able to carve a few rideable waves out before the wind switches.

Winds
Saturday look for NW winds 10-15 knots for the morning and NW winds 10-20+ knots on tap for the afternoon. Sunday will start off cleaner with variable N winds around 10-15 knots but the NW flow 10-15+ knots will return by the afternoon.
